Classical music fans look set for a treat - a most unusual concert for guitar and piano, played by two distinguished performers with international reputations. Lydia Melleck (piano) and Martin Vishnick (guitar) will play music specially written for the two instruments spanning the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.  

It will be an exciting and varied recital of carefully selected pieces by the two experienced musicians, featuring duet music by Anton Diabellli, Astor Piazzolla, Malcolm Arnold, Brian Kelly, Francesco Molino, and Martin Vishnick, as well as solo pieces by George Gershwin and Heitor Villa Lobos.
 

Performers

Lydia and Martin are Londoners who have performed at many major London concert venues and theatres, including Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Purcell Room. However, their diverse musical careers have also taken them all over the globe.

Lydia Melleck is a pianist who also works as a musical director, rehearsal pianist, and teacher. Her work includes solo and duet recitals, opera, stage musicals and recordings. As a répétiteur Lydia has worked in the National Opera House, Tel Aviv, and as recitalist she has toured Romania. Her discography includes The Romantic Style of Lydia Melleck and Musical Tales for Children (read by Tom Conti). 

Martin Vishnick is a guitarist, composer, teacher, and post-doctoral researcher. Commissions have included music for the concert hall and theatre. Martin has recently performed at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Vilnius, and the Central Mexican Academy of Music and Arts, Mexico. His extensive discography includes Guitar Man and Café Flamenco.
