We hope you are keeping safe and well. As you will have guessed, unfortunately, and unavoidably, COVID-19 has changed what has been possible in terms of hiring the House. The galleries remain closed to the general public for the time-being. However, we are hiring them out for permitted activities such as funerals, professional film and TV recording, filming, rehearsing, meetings and training. We are able to offer socially distanced tours of the building if you're planning to hold a future event with us.
Bookings for events in 2020 – We are touching base with people 1 month before their event to discuss any new changes to government guidelines. If we agree that it is unlikely that your event can proceed, we will do everything we can to find you a suitable new date within 18 months.
New enquiries – we welcome new enquiries. For events before 31 March 2021 we are asking for a deposit of only 30%, instead of 50%, to secure the date in the diary, and will review these events with you in line with the above. Our usual terms and conditions apply to all events on or after 31 March 2021.
We are closely following government advice and monitoring this unprecedented situation very carefully, and do appreciate how challenging it is for everyone. Please know that we are here to help and reassure you during this period. We have experience of managing uncertain opening dates from our 18 month refurbishment in 2016/17 so please feel free to reach out to us if you have any concerns.
