Dating back to 1582, Lauderdale House is an impressive Grade II* listed building known for its vibrant gardens and stunning views in Camden, North London.

Rich in history and culture, Lauderdale House counts actress Nell Gwynn, King Charles II and diarist Samuel Pepys among its distinguished visitors. The venue is licensed for marriages and civil partnerships, and our beautiful galleries can host ceremonies and receptions (or both!) of up to 120 guests. The perfect place to exchange your vows, it offers a tranquil and restful atmosphere while still easily accessible with public transport. Our friendly and experienced events team will be available from your first enquiry to help you plan your celebration of love.

Lauderdale boasts a sumptuous blend of historic features, including ornate ceilings, original beams and Georgian columns, as well as modern amenities. With tasteful furniture and exhibitions by local artists, the House exudes elegance, style and comfort.

Here, with the terraced gardens of Waterlow Park forming a scenic backdrop, you can focus on celebrating your special day with loved ones. Once you have said 'I do,' you can take photos in the grounds and create lasting memories to cherish forever. As you dine and dance the night away inside the venue, you can soak up the unique atmosphere of this fabulous country house in the city.

Lauderdale House partners with Pink Food, our in-house catering company, to deliver a delicious culinary experience. Our team will work together to assist you in planning your big day, paying attention to the smallest details for a seamless experience.

With the well-documented economic challenges the country is facing at the moment, we're aware that this is a particularly complex time to be planning a wedding! As such, we are keen to do our bit to ensure that a beautiful celebration at Lauderdale House remains a possibility for as many people as possible. Here's our plan:

From November to March we offer free wedding ceremonies to couples who choose to host their reception* with us in our stunning historic rooms, giving couples full use of both our Lower and Long Galleries. This means less time searching for multiple venues, a beautiful setting to celebrate your love, and more budget to dedicate to the party! Waterlow Park is a magical location all year round, and we hope this offer will help alleviate a bit of the stress when planning your big day. Give us a call for further details!

Did you know Lauderdale House is a registered charity? Lauderdale House runs as an arts and education centre, and the income made from weddings is invested back into the House to preserve the building’s unique heritage, offer low-cost and free creative activities for our local community and run our weekly youth programme.
