Enjoy an afternoon concert of late 18th and early 19th century music for flute & strings performed on period instruments by The Galeazzi Ensemble in celebration of their 30th anniversary.

The Galeazzi Ensemble features Lesley Holliday on flute, Richard Wade on violin, Virginie Guiffray on viola and Gareth Deats on cello. The quartet formed in 1995 to perform music of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and as well as performing works from the standard repertoire with the aim of introducing audiences to neglected and unfamiliar works. The Galeazzi Ensemble were finalists in the 1999 York International Early Music Competition and have since gone from strength to strength. They have performed on Meridian and BBC Television and BBC Radio 3 and have continued to give concerts for festivals and music societies in the UK and abroad. The Galeazzi Ensemble have released several recordings, most recently a disc of music by Josef Haydn.
