London-based vocalist Tina Carr brings her distinctive voice and warm, authentic style to the great jazz vocal tradition.

Curating her own show of eclectic jazz tunes, Tina brings together well-known jazz players: Matt Robinson (piano), Miguel Gorodi (trumpet), Max Luthert (bass) and Dave Hamblett (drums) to play a selection of Thelonious Monk and original work from Tina’s recently- released album “Moon Over Mildmay” which has received accolades from critics and jazz fans alike.

Tina Carr - vocals
A few years ago, having had no formal music training, Tina Carr walked away from a professional life working with freelance journalists, and threw herself into the music she'd been privately making all her life. Since then, she has been swiftly building a reputation as a vibrant and charismatic vocalist. Having played with many notable musicians on the live circuit in the UK and Europe, Tina has performed three years of sell-out headline shows in the EFG London Jazz Festival. Her debut album ‘Songs for Curly’ came out in 2023. Her second album, “Moon Over Mildmay” was released to great acclaim in March 2026.    

Matt Robinson - piano
Matt Robinson is an award-winning pianist, composer and producer in jazz and contemporary music who performs, writes and records with many leading musicians on the UK scene including Snowpoet, Flying Machines, The Magic Lantern, Emilia Martensson, Josienne Clarke and his own duo, Wanderland with Natalie Wildgoose. His playing has been featured on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 6 music, Jazz FM and at venues including Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts, Love Supreme Festival.  

Max Luthert - bass
As one of the premier bassists of his generation in the UK, Max Luthert is known for his distinctive bass sound and approach to improvisation. Max has performed around the world with artists such as Bill Laurance, Nubya Garcia, Zara McFarlane, Duncan Eagles, Moses Boyd and Binker Golding.  

Miguel Gorodi - trumpet
Miguel Gorodi is a London based trumpet player, composer and teacher working across a broad spectrum of jazz and improvised music. He leads several ensembles that reflect his interests in contemporary and traditional ideas in jazz. Gorodi released his debut album Apophenia on the Ubuntu label in 2019. He has worked with Jamie Callum, BBC Big Band, Ivo Neame’s Dodeka, Tom Challenger’s Brass Mask, Emma Rawicz Jazz Orchestra, SEED Ensemble, Yazz Ahmed, Femi Temowo, The London Jazz Orchestra, Smitty’s House Band, London City Big Band, Hackney Colliery Band, The Ticklers, Riot Jazz and many others.

Dave Hamblett - drums
Dave Hamblett is a drummer and educator based in Stroud. He has worked with artists including Snowpoet, The Magic Lantern, The Howl & The Hum, Dominie Hooper, Aoife O’Donovan, Elchin Shirinov, and Ivo Neame. He appears on dozens of albums and has performed extensively in the UK and internationally for the last 16 years. He is a Principal Lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire.
