One of the UK’s leading jazz bandleaders, Peter Long performs with an exceptional ensemble in a concert of classic songs and timeless jazz favourites.
Peter Long is one of the UK’s most respected jazz musicians recognised for his work as a bandleader, multi-instrumentalist and arranger. He is best known as director of the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and numerous other projects, entertaining his audiences with great skill, a deep respect for tradition and a compelling stage presence.
He is joined by fellow musicians of the highest calibre and artistry to provide a concert of well-loved jazz classics and songs from the Great American Songbook. Between them, they have all worked and collaborated with the likes of Jools Holland, Tom Jones, Sir Paul McCartney, Dr John, Lulu, Lionel Richie, Claire Martin, Jamie Cullum, Mica Paris, Imagination, Sister Sledge, Salena Jones and the major Orchestras in the UK.
There will be a special appearance from the highly acclaimed actress, Shelley King, who has played Yasmeen Nazir in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

Musicians for Peace and Disarmament (MPD), formerly Musicians Against Nuclear Arms, have been organising concerts and events to raise funds for the peace movement since 1983. With renowned guitarist John Williams OBE as President and a distinguished group of Patrons, MPD brings together leading musicians who are committed to supporting the cause. The MPD Chamber Ensemble is formed of musicians who regularly perform for MPD, generously giving their time and talent in the service of peace.
