Graham Parkinson is a photographer who loves to travel and uses photography to share the landscapes he sees and the people he meets. In his landscapes he enjoys the relationship between the subject and the graphic or artistic qualities of the actual photograph. He is the winner of the two most recent Lauderdale House Photographic Competitions.
His last exhibition at Lauderdale House was in 2019. This year he is showing photographs of the deserts of Oman; portraits from Ladakh in the Himalayas (when he found himself living in a Buddhist nunnery); and trees in the English landscape. There are also Still Lifes inspired by the American photographer Evelyn Hofer. He is an architect and a member of Muswell Hill Photographic Society.
Proceeds from sales will be given to The Compassion Team, a charity which he helped to found based in Ladakh The charity supports Tibetan refugees, a school and in particular the Tibetan Health Centre in Choglamsar in Ladakh, which is at the centre of the fight against Covid-19 in the area.
The prints in the exhibition are available framed or unframed in various sizes
