100 Years Bold in All Weathers

Association Exhibition

To celebrate 100 years of Kenwood Ladies' Pond, this exhibition presents the work of twelve artists selected as Artists in Residence, capturing the beauty, community and unique spirit of the Pond.

In 2026, the world-famous Kenwood Ladies' Pond is celebrating its centenary as a place reserved for women and girls to swim. To mark this milestone, the Kenwood Ladies' Pond Association (KLPA) presents the work of twelve members chosen to be 'Artists in Residence' at the Pond during its 100th year.

Both the Ladies' Pond and the KLPA attract swimmers from all walks of life, including many artists, writers and other creative individuals. In August 2025, members were invited to apply for the year-long residencies as an opportunity to create work inspired by the history, nature and welcoming community of the Ladies' Pond, as well as the experience of swimming in its waters.

The high-quality range of submissions reflected a wide variety of artistic practice and media. After careful consideration, the residencies were awarded based on the originality and creativity of each artist's approach in responding to and celebrating what the Pond means to them.

The exhibition on both floors of the House showcases the talent and enthusiasm of Pond swimmers with works on paper, ceramics and textiles, as well as performances of poetry, voice and movement. While portraying the community and the beauty of the natural environment, many of the artists have chosen to consider the experience of swimming through the changing seasons and the physical and mental benefits of being 'bold in all weathers'.
