THIRTEEN exhibition 2021 autumn

Founded in 2015, THIRTEEN is a group of professional and accomplished amateur photographers with many awards, solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad between them. It includes members of both London Independent Photography and the Royal Photographic Society.

The exhibition, the group’s sixth in Lauderdale House, presents a variety of subject matter and genres in colour and monochrome, reflecting each photographer’s idiosyncratic approach and preference for artistic expression. Topics include documentaries of a changing world; the urban to rural; little ordinary things; the natural world; dramatic sea- and landscapes; unconventional portraiture; and abstract photography. Many of the photographers have embraced digital photography; some remain faithful to analogue photography. Some make extensive use of computer manipulation in pursuit of artistic expression in a time where movement outside of the home was curtailed.

Each photographer, through their set of four photographs, develops an idea and their identity as a photographer. The variety of approaches is a fundamental part of the exhibition.
