Opening Dates & Hours

Discover the remarkable legacy of Jim Pipkin, whose passion for art began at the age of five and flourished into a lifelong vocation. For over 60 years, Jim transformed landscapes into captivating, abstract, and representational works that evoke mood and imagination.

His unique approach — layering oil paints and acrylics to achieve vibrant colour and depth — resulted in stunning pieces, with each year yielding around five finished artworks.

Having settled in Palmers Green with his wife Pamela, a scientist, Jim became a cherished member of the local arts community. His Tottenham studio was a creative haven, where he worked on multiple pieces simultaneously, always striving for intensity and meaning in every brushstroke. Jim's art is inspired by the landscapes around us, distilled into minimalistic images that invite viewers to experience the world through his eyes.

"A Lifetime of Painting" celebrates Jim Pipkin's enduring contribution to the arts. The exhibition will give you a flavour of his works that span many decades.  Jim also has pieces held in public collections — like 'Landscape in Blue' at Enfield Civic Centre and a painting at the Burton Art Gallery in Bideford, North Devon.

Join us in honouring the memory and artistry of Jim Pipkin, whose creative spirit enriched the community and inspired generations. Experience the evolution of a painter whose life was shaped by colour, landscape, and the joy of sharing art with the public.
