Lauderdale House's own Peter Gallagher returns with a new exhibition!

Peter on the exhibition:

"I paint in a semi figurative style, often indiscriminately and recklessly until I see something interesting happening within the canvas and which excites me to explore the idea and give it life. Testing the composition of colours and forms; distilling and refining the idea, until the painting is of itself, complete.

This leads me to a place where reason and logic have no part to play, a place where the characters are left in a parlous state, to the service of composition. But not only that, it is as though this world is normal to them and things will run their course whatever. On this journey, each brush stroke is looking for an accident to happen and reveal an unforeseen surprise. It’s not about the paint, but the ideas that emanate from it, where the suspension of disbelief reigns."
