Lauderdale’s resident cabaret artiste, Tim McArthur, will lead you in a gallop through all your favourite songs from a great selection of iconic shows along with the wonderful Abigail Carter-Simpson and Musical Director Aaron Clingham.

If you don’t want to sing then come for the fun and 'actalong' to great classics such as Hakuna Matata, Chitty Chitty Bang, Bang, Doe A Deer and more!

About the performers

Tim McArthur, recently celebrated 25 years working in the entertainment industry. He has lived in Highgate since 1997. He is a actor, theatre director, writer and presenter. Recent theatre role include The Baker in Into The Woods, Maurice in the comedy musical Bathouse and Sam Byck in Assassins. He has performed his solo show at Feinstein's 54 Below on Broadway in NYC, The Tada Theatre in NYC, Drews in Chicago and the London Hippodrome and The Purcell Room. He presents the Curtain Up Show on Resonance FM and Healthy Acting on Men's Radio Station. He also created the comedy character Sister Mary who has performed several seasons at The Edinburgh Festival. After the success of last years summer Sing- Along, he is delighted to be returning to Lauderdale House for more show tunes and silliness.

Abigail Carter-Simpson started her performing career off as an actress. She trained at the prestigious Guildford School Of Acting, gaining herself a degree in Musical Theatre. After graduating she appeared in many Off-West End productions and graced the stage of the likes of the Dominion Theatre, Prince Of Wales Theatre and . She spent a long while touring across the country in a No1 Children's Tour and even got the chance to perform over in Hong Kong & Singapore. From Shakespeare to Pantomime, Musical Theatre to Comedy  - Abi has earnt her stripes in the theatre world. 

She was also nominated for an OFFIE for her portrayal of Cinderella in Into The Woods (2018) and was nominated for the Wilma Awards - Rising Star Award (2017) 

After half a decade of performing on the stage she ventured into the world of Film & TV. She has appeared on BBC, ITV2 and you can see her in the Warner Brother’s hit Blinded By The Light (2019). She is set to appear in Series 3 of Agatha Raisin on Sky in July 2020!

Aaron Clingham has received nine Off West End Award Nominations for Best Musical Director. 

Theatre Credits include: Romance/Romance, Fanny and Stella, Grindr: The Opera (Above The Stag Theatre); Metropolis, The Kissing Dance, Wonderful Town (Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre); Into the Woods (Cockpit Theatre); It's a Bird...It's A Plane...It's Superman (Leicester Square Theatre); The Rippers Five (Theatre Technis); Naked Boys Singing (Kings Head Theatre and Garden Theatre); Sondheim by Sondheim (Camden Roundhouse). He was nominated for a Broadway World Award for The Apple Tree (Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre) and composed incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream (Blue Elephant Theatre).

Booking information

This performance will take place on the Tea Lawn at the back of Lauderdale House. 

If you would like to sit together, please book together, as this allows us to assign each booking a socially distanced space.

Chairs will not be provided so please bring either a picnic blanket or a chair to make yourself comfortable. Audience members with chairs will be seated behind those on the ground to make sure that everyone has a good view. If you are booking as a group, the whole group will need to be on chairs or on blankets, rather than a mixture of the two.

We have a limited number of picnic tables and benches (see map below) available as group tickets – book these early to avoid disappointment.

Weather

The performance will continue regardless of the weather unless unsafe. Please plan for all eventualities and remember to bring a waterproof layer and a warm jumper. We prefer waterproofs to umbrellas because umbrellas can obstruct views. Don’t forget that if you are on a blanket the ground may be wet so make sure you have a blanket with a waterproof side or bring aplastic sheet. There are no refunds for shows cancelled due to the weather.

Food and Drink

The cafe/bar will be open selling light snacks and drinks before the performance starts and during the interval.

You are also welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy on the Tea Lawn as you watch the performance. 

COVID-19 precautions

Although the government has lifted many of the requirements around COVID-19 isolation rules, we are aware that many of our visitors are vulnerable and we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. As such, we are continuing to provide hand sanitiser at our entrances maintaining our reduced capacity of 80%. As audience members, we ask that you do not attend if you are showing symptoms or are testing positive, and that you wear a face covering if possible.
