This spring, we've invited our resident class of watercolour, acrylic and oil painters to exhibit their wonderful work online.

The class offers a wonderful opportunity for anyone to learn the basics of these mediums. These artists have been working hard over lockdown and their beautiful work reminds us of the beauty of creativity, even in hard times.

The class' art tutor, Sharon Finmark, lives in North London and studied at Central St. Martins School of Art.  She has had several books published on painting and drawing.

Artists and their work are listed below. Scroll down and click the image on the right to view the artist's work.

Lindy Peacey

Lindy says: I have known Lauderdale House and Waterlow Park since coming to live in Highgate in 1967. I have always had an interest in drawing and painting since my school days, but for many years work, children and family prevented any sustained active participation. In 2017, a while after I retired, I joined Sharon Finmark's watercolour and acrylic painting class and found a lively and friendly group. I have enjoyed painting in the garden and park around Lauderdale House. I also particularly enjoy painting pictures of people, often when they are engaged in activities.

Inthiren Vuddamalay

Inthiren says: I am a conceptual artist inspired by nature. Visiting the beautiful gardens and attending classes with kind and talented Sharon at Lauderdale House, has been a pleasure.

Several of Indren's works are for sale, priced at £40. This includes 'Our Blue Jay'; 'Having an (Orca) whale of a time'; 'Silent smile of serenity'; 'Juxtaposition'; and 'Visions of Spring (time)'.
