Opening Dates & Hours

Holding Time brings together three artists, Ayse McGowan, Caroline Matthews, and Michelle Weiner.

Through painting, drawing, and printmaking, the exhibition celebrates the quiet, often overlooked moments that root us in the natural and familial world and highlights how we hold on to time: through memory, imagination, and creative expression.

In an age of constant motion and uncertainty, Holding Time offers a space for pause and reflection. Each artwork captures the subtle beauty of everyday life, a fleeting glimmer of light at the turn of the season, the stillness of water, the warmth of a shared moment.

This collaborative exhibition features new works alongside highly commended pieces recognised in major art awards, including the Jackson’s Art Prize, Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize and at the Mall Galleries, London.

Ayse McGowan’s expressive paintings capture the essence of water and light through bold marks and layered translucency. A self-taught artist with a background in design, Ayse paints full-time from her studio in Radlett, Hertfordshire and is a member of Studio Fridays.
