Co-created with artist Alison Lam and facilitated by artist Dora Lam, the students were taken on a creative, thought provoking and hands on journey. Students began the project with a visit to Lauderdale House, exploring the raw natural materials of the park, and from then, created impressions in clay. The students then spent two weeks working in wax, using the site visit to inform the composition of their creations. The wax was sent off to Walnut Works, a bronze foundry owned by master founder Kabir Hussain and his wife Vicky who have worked with several renowned artists, including Anthony Gormley.
The young people spent next two weeks sculpting organic designs in porcelain paper clay. Last but not least, they experimented with Gelli printing and Sumi ink. This exhibition - both within Lauderdale House and in the gardens of Waterlow Park - is the culmination of the project.
The exhibition can be found throughout the House and Park and you will find work in the Entrance Hall, Courtyard Gallery, Tea Law and Tudor Knot Garden.

Cabinet of Curiosities will be on display in the Entrance Hall, the Courtyard, our indoor community gallery at the heart of the House, in the sundial on the Tea Lawn, and in the Knot Garden adjacent to the House . You can visit the works in Waterlow Park during the park opening times and in the House during gallery opening times from Saturday 6 June - Sunday 5 July.
