Join award-winning author, playwright and creator of Taggart Glenn Chandler at Lauderdale House for the launch of his new true-crime book, Bloodlands.
Bloodlands tells the true story of James Blomfield Rush and the notorious Stanfield Hall murders. On a November night in 1848, a cloaked assassin entered a mansion in rural Norfolk and shot dead judge Isaac Jermy and his son. The man accused of their murders was farmer James Blomfield Rush, whose subsequent trial became a national sensation.
Drawing on years of research, Glenn Chandler explores the extraordinary crime and its aftermath, a story of inheritance, forgery, deception and obsession.
Come along to celebrate the publication of Bloodlands. The afternoon will be an informal book launch, with the chance to meet Glenn and hear him give a reading from the book.
