Have you ever watched Bridgerton and wondered about the true history behind the Netflix series? Well, Georgian London was a vibrant and diverse cosmopolitan city, much like it is today...
Black Londoners played a significant role in Georgian-era literature, art, and style, as well as in the anti-slavery movement. Despite the slave merchants' dehumanizing tactics, London served as a safe haven for black stowaways escaping the brutalities of plantation life in the colonies. Join the Black Woman's Wellness Group this March at the beautiful 16th-century Lauderdale House for an illuminating talk on London's hidden past. Featuring renowned local historians from Camden's History Walk guides, we'll explore the fascinating untold stories of London's black population.
