At One with Nature

Gabrielle 'Thunder' Bill has been working within the theme of being At One with Nature for the past 24 years since graduating with an Honours degree in Fine Art from Farnham.  She exhibits regularly in the UK and internationally, and her work can be found in collections in Beirut, Germany, Belgium, France, UK, Italy, and Australia. Most recently she was included in the well-regarded curator Stefania Carrozzini’s ‘Flower Obsession’ exhibitions in November in Camden, London as well as last June in Venice during the Biennale.

Gabrielle works with oil on canvas, her inspiration coming from the figure and the natural world, aiming to take the viewer on a mindful experience, away from the troubles that surround us. Her love of flowers, foliage and the human form shows through in her application of the paint. Creating depth of field, as well as interesting mark making with the added dimension of the figure or landscape giving a narrative to the work.  This show also includes her colourful small still life paintings as well as her diversions into cold wax and more abstract work. Her main love is the process of creating her larger works, playing with light and composition, and never knowing when starting a piece how it will develop and change as the paint takes control.

Gabrielle now lives between the French Alps and Dorset, having been a bit of a nomad over many years!
