The Wild Escape Lauderdale House

On Earth Day 2023, we are celebrating Waterlow Park and its value to the local community through a series of free, art-based workshops for children aged 7 - 11.

These workshops are part of a nationwide initiative called The Wild Escape - a major new project led by Art Fund uniting hundreds of museums with schools and families in a celebration of UK wildlife and creativity.

The workshops will run from 10am until 3pm and consist of a printing activity using leaves and other natural materials from the park. The children will also receive a Waterlow Park Trail activity book that will take them around the park, with additional pages to be used throughout the seasons! This activity book will be available on a continuous basis, regardless of workshop attendance.

Please note that parents and guardians must stay with their children for the duration of the workshop.

The Wild Escape is led by Art Fund alongside hundreds of museums, artists and environmentalists, in partnership with WWF, the RSPB, National Trust and English Heritage. The Wild Escape is made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Kusuma Trust, Foyle Foundation and a group of generous individuals and trusts. The Wild Escape is inspired by Wild Isles, a landmark BBC series exploring the flora and fauna of the UK.
