This exhibition is based on The Boy on the Peacock Throne, an illustrated memoir by Mehrdad Aref-Adib about growing up in Iran before and after the 1979 Revolution.
The works presented are screen prints drawn from the book. They record moments from childhood and early life, set against the political and social changes of the period. The images are visual recollections shaped by distance and time.
The exhibition moves between domestic space and public history.
