Seasons come, Seasons go. Artist Alice Gavin-Atashkar presents her work inspired by changing seasons, using the beauty of seasons as a source of hope and a connection to her Christian faith.
This exhibition in the Lower Gallery by Alice Gavin-Atashkar draws on the lessons which she learns from the seasons: be present, anticipate well, bask in the season, the joy of the present, marinate and meditate. For her, the seasons are a metaphor for life.
As a Christian artist, Alice's gazing on the seasons has become a means to gaze on her creator, God. She is inspired by words by psalmist King David: "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it" (Psalm 24:1).
In all seasons, nothing ever stays the same. Even in a bleak, grey winter, people can can spot small signs of hope. The first buds appear, and early Spring blossoms signal a new era. With the arrival of summer new fruits, colours and shapes. Finally, autumn sets in and time makes it all start again.
Join Alice exploring the wisdom of the seasons -- a journey to stay present and enjoy the small still signs of change. Alice will explore a prayerful journey of hope in the chaos of the world, and draws on inspiration in and around North London: mainly Dartlands Nature Reserve, Dollis Valley and Brooke Farm.
