Lauderdale House's annual photographic competition is back and open for entries!
Whatever your photographic ability, you can enter up to 6 prints, with a chance to be selected for our exhibition in August. The overall winner of the competition will be awarded with their own free solo exhibition at Lauderdale House!

Open - This category is open to prints of any subject matter.
Themed - This years theme is 'Light & Shade'. Entrants for this section are invited to interpret the theme as widely as they wish e.g. literally, representatively, etc.

Entries must be sent or delivered to Lauderdale House and there is an entry fee of £3 per print. Entries will be accepted Monday 7 July to Friday 11 July from 11am - 4pm and Saturday 12 July & Sunday 13 July from 12 - 4pm.
Rules
Please read the rules below carefully before making a submission.
- This is a competition with two categories:
Open (This category is open to prints of any subject matter.)
Themed: 'Light & Shade' (Entrants for this section are invited to interpret the theme as widely as they wish e.g. literally, representatively, etc.)
- Lauderdale House Society reserves the right to refuse entries which are considered to be discriminatory or inappropriate by the judging panel.
- Colour or black and white prints are acceptable and should be no larger than 60cm x 60cm when framed. Prints must be framed in a suitable frame. ART WORK WITHOUT FRAMES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE SEE HANGING INSTRUCTIONS AT THE END OF THE SUBMISSION FORM.
- Work should be priced on the back or marked ‘not for sale’ (NFS). Name, address, telephone number, age (if under 16) and category must also be written clearly on the back of all prints. To avoid confusion, it is also necessary for an arrow to be placed on the reverse to indicate which way up the print is to be hung.
- Entry fees £3 per print. A maximum of 6 prints may be submitted per entrant. Cheques and postal orders must be made payable to Lauderdale House Society. All entries will be acknowledged. Please wrap all entries carefully (but note that we are unable to return your personal wrapping).
- Entries must be sent or delivered to the North Entrance of Lauderdale House, Highgate Hill, Waterlow Park, London N6 5HG (ring the doorbell marked ‘office’ if the gallery is closed. You should also enclose with your entry:
a) Fees (you can make a card payment to us upon delivery)
b) Completed entry form
c) Optional CV (we would like to compile a folder to be displayed in the exhibition with information about exhibitors).
- No work which has been submitted to previous Lauderdale House competitions will be accepted.
- Entries will be accepted at the following times:
Monday 7 July to Friday 11 July, from 11am - 4pm
Saturday 12 July & Sunday 13 July, from 12pm - 4pm
- Approximately 110 prints will be selected for the exhibition. Entrants whose work has been selected will be notified after Tuesday 15 July.
- Non-selected prints should be collected immediately after notification. You can collect your works between Monday 21 to Friday 25 July (11am to 4pm) or Sunday 27 July midday to 4pm.
- A winner will be selected from each category:

From these categories, an overall winner will be selected and offered an individual exhibition at Lauderdale House. There will be no charge made for the gallery space; however, a 10% commission on sales will be taken.
- There will be more than one judge and the judges’ decision will be final.
- The exhibition will be hung by Lauderdale House staff on Tuesday 19 August. The exhibition will open on Wednesday 20 August, with the private view the same evening from 7.30 - 9pm. All entrants are welcome. Winners will be announced at the private view. The exhibition closes at 4pm on Monday 1 September.
- Selected prints must be collected between Wednesday 3 September and Tuesday 23 September, on weekdays 11am - 4pm, or by prior arrangement with the office. Lauderdale House cannot be held responsible for prints left after Tuesday 23 September.
- The exhibition will take place in the Entrance Hall and Lower Gallery. Opening hours will vary depending on private bookings, and we reserve the right to change them at short notice. Please check our website or call us on 020 8348 8716 to confirm opening hours.
- All entrants agree that Lauderdale House may use their photos for the promotion of the competition this year and in the future.
