As part of our Nowruz Festival, this exhibition presents a collection of collaborative artworks created by Afghan refugee women supported by Hopscotch Women’s Centre in Camden.
Through embroidery, painting and hand-crafted textiles, the works reflect on ideas of home, memory and belonging. Blending traditional Afghan techniques with new influences from their lives in London, the works explore what it means to carry culture forward while building new roots.
Nowruz, marking the arrival of spring, is a time to reflect on home, renewal and the hope of new beginnings. These artworks reflect that spirit, honouring memories of the homes left behind while celebrating the courage, creativity and resilience involved in building new lives and communities here in Camden.
