Covid-19 Precautions

Described as ‘an open, imaginative and technically impeccable group’, ChamberMusicBox makes a long-awaited return to North London with a powerful display of female talent in a programme especially curated to mark International Women’s Day.

Two years after Covid stopped their well-established Hampstead chamber music series in its tracks, this collective of some of the UK’s finest chamber musicians returns to North London for an evening of exquisite music making. Built around the formation of Ravel’s equally exquisite and exotic song cycle ‘Chansons Madécasses’ for mezzo-soprano, flute, cello and piano, the programme also features works by Lili Boulanger and Cecilia McDowall and Judith Weir, as well the Trio for flute, cello and piano by 19th century composer and piano virtuoso Louise Farrenc.

Performers

As one of the leading British flautists of her generation, Kathryn Thomas has performed at The Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall as well as at festivals including the BBC Proms, Cheltenham, Two Moors and Presteigne.

Emily Gray’s recent performances have included concert appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, King’s Place and the Purcell Room as well as live broadcasts on BBC3’s “In Tune” programme.

As a soloist and chamber musician, cellist Julia Morneweg has performed around the UK and internationally at venues including the Purcell Room at London’s Southbank Centre, St John’s Smith Square, Zurich Tonhalle, Martinu Hall Prague and Shanghai’s Daning Theatre.

Kazakh-British pianist Dina Duisen enjoys a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician, regularly appearing at venues including the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building in Oxford, Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, King’s Place, Milton Court and Cadogan Hall.
