Overview

Following our incredible refurbishment in 2016 we want as many people as possible to enjoy this  beautiful historic house.

We aspire to filling each gallery and room with fun, creative and educational activities for everyone from early morning to late evening.  We want to be out and about in the locality making new friends and giving people new opportunities to enjoy heritage and creativity.

We need your support to realise this dream.  Funds are needed to:

  • pay imaginative artists and educators
  • create new opportunities for all through our Opening the Doors arts and heritage education and outreach programme
  • maintain this Tudor building
  • improve the grounds at the side House to make them safer and so they do justice to the rest of the building, putting the final touch to the 2016 refurbishment

By helping us you become part of the ‘Lauderdale Family’ and can be confident that you are making a real difference.

Opening the Doors

Opening the Doors introduces children and teenagers to artists of all kinds (drama, poetry, visual art, etc) in school and recreational settings, opening their minds and lives to new possibilities.

Many of these children and teenagers come from deprived backgrounds and/or are facing obstacles in their lives, so do not have the extra opportunities given to children at private schools or those with full support at home.

The projects seek to help fill this gap and give them confidence, improve their communication and problem solving skills, exercise their imagination, encourage them to have fun, help them learn in new ways, connect them with their broader communities and in the long term will help improve their employability.

The programme is intensive and we need £55,000 each year to keep it going.
