Come and explore the latest work from LYRIC: Lauderdale’s Young Research & Interpretation Collective, and discover the local histories, from Victorian railway expansion and political change in Camden to Brutalism, true-crime cases, and stories of Irish immigration.
LYRIC is an eight-week research programme at Lauderdale House that gives local Sixth Form students the opportunity to investigate a topic of their choice and develop real historical research skills. Over October and November, our new cohort learnt how to research, reference, use archives, and present their findings under the guidance of educator and researcher Jonathan Goddard.
This year’s sessions included talks from guest speakers, practical workshops, and hands-on time with archival materials, helping students uncover new perspectives on Camden’s past and shape their ideas into engaging public projects.
LYRIC culminates in this exhibition of their work, alongside a brand-new series of podcasts exploring their chosen topics, which will launch on our Spotify channel in the new year.
