Our schools programme connects children and young people to their local area and heritage, giving them ownership of the space and building bridges in the local community.
Cabinet of Curiosities
Year 10 students from local schools work with our artist in residence to create ceramic and bronze pieces inspired by the collections of plants and artefacts of James Yates.
Art of Dispute is a poetry project inspired by former Lauderdale House resident, William Mead. Students work with a professional poet to write and perform spoken word pieces around themes of justice and free speech.
106 Year 2 students from Channing Junior School and St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary came together to create artworks based on the relationship between nature and art. The project links to former Lauderdale resident, James Yates, who was an eccentric collector with a passion for weird and wonderful plants!
