Baluji Shrivastav OBE presents a concert series of Indian classical music interacting with the sounds of Spain, Indonesia, Jazz, Opera and Poetry.

Saint Cecilia is the patroness of musicians and Indian Goddess Saraswati represents the divine form of creative thought. They are the inspiration behind this concert bringing together both Indian and Western musical traditions. 

The program will include an original composition in Raag Hamsadvani  and Sohini’s Aria by Baluji Shrivastav; Ein Schwan by Edvard Grieg; Indian Love Lyrics by Woodforde-Finden; Saraswati by Linda Shanovitch and more…..

Baluji Shrivastav OBE  (Sitar, tablas and dilruba)

One of the world’s leading sitarists and leading campaigner for disabled people in the arts. Baluji Shrivastav has also performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists including Stevie Wonder, Massive Attack, Madness, and Shakira.

Patricia Rozario OBE  (Soprano)

Internationally acclaimed Patricia Rozario has performed at the major opera houses in the world with notable appearances in The Marriage of Figaro, conducted by Sir Georg Solti.
Rozario has made numerous recordings of the works composed for her by John Tavener. She is currently a professor at Royal College of Music.

Oscar Castellino (Baritone) 

Oscar studied singing at the RCM and Royal Welsh College. Multi-talented, he performed his composition ‘Mars Anthem’ at the Mars Convention in California. His international opera debut was in June playing the role of George Benton in Dead Man Walking with Welsh National Opera .He sang for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Music on board the barge in 2012.

Linda Shanovitch (Western and Indian vocals)

 Singer, songwriter and producer. Linda Shanovitch's compositions and singing are on the ARC and ZAH ZAH labels. Shanovitch combines jazz and Hindustani in the top fusion group Jazz Orient also known as Re-Orient. She is also a published author.

Mark Troop (Piano) 

Broadcaster, writer, and prolific producer and founder of The Chamber Music Company Mark Troop is devoted to creative performance of all types of music. He taught at the Guildhall School of Music for two decades, and teaches at Dartington International Summer School and St Paul’s Boys’ School. He is also responsible  for bringing together Classical and Jazz creating “The Ronnie Scotts of Classical Music” The Guardian.
