Lauderdale House has flexible opening hours depending on the events taking place. If you are coming to a particular event, please check the times of that event. The cafe may also be open even if the rest of the house is closed. If you are coming to look around the house, please do so when the galleries are open.
Our gallery spaces are open from 11am to 4pm, Mondays to Wednesdays and from 11.30am to 4pm on Thursdays. The galleries may be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - however this is subject to change if a private event is taking place at the house. Please call the office on 0208 348 8716 to check gallery opening hours.
We have done all we can to make Lauderdale House as accessible and welcoming as possible. You can read in detail about our accessibility here.
We have no on-site parking at Lauderdale House. However, parking is available on Highgate Hill and the surrounding side roads - please check restrictions when you park as parking is not always free.
Lauderdale House is based on the edge of Waterlow Park just off of Highgate Hill. We are a ten minute uphill walk from Archway Tube Station and approximately 20 minute's walk from Highgate Station. The 210, 271 and 143 bus routes stop just outside of our gates.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in our galleries and in the café, providing they are kept on a lead. We do not allow dogs (apart from guidedogs) at concerts, classes and ticketed events unless otherwise specified.
We have three beautiful spaces which are available for hire, and we host all sorts of events throughout the year, including weddings, children's parties, work away-days, classes, parties and meetings. Find out more about hiring a space in the house.

Yes, Lauderdale House Society was set up as a charity. Our charity number is 275502. All of the money that we make from donations, activities and private hire of the building goes towards supporting our outreach programme working with local communities as well as safeguarding our unique heritage.
We are always looking for volunteers who can help out at the house and become part of the Lauderdale family, whether that's welcoming visitors on our reception desk, lending a hand at big events or helping out the office team with marketing, fundraising or outreach. If you are interested in volunteering, you can find out more here.
