In homage to our glorious past - after the House was restored in 1893 it served as the Waterlow Park tearoom for 70 years- we're introducing Cabaret at Tea Time with a ticket offer that combines afternoon tea plus cabaret ticket. Gerard McCarthy was awarded Sir Kenneth Branagh's Renaissance Scholarship to train as an actor. He first found fame playing Kris in Hollyoaks and has recently played Kevin McSwain in BBC 2's BAFTA nominated drama The Fall starring Gillian Anderson. He played alongside Sir Derek Jacobi, Neve Campbell & Joely Richardson as Ashley Stokes in Titanic: Blood & Steel, an epic 12 part series charting the extraordinary construction of RMS Titanic in the shipyards of Edwardian Belfast. The series was nominated for 5 IFTA Awards including Best Series. Recently he played Brondsted in the first episode of Michael Hirst's brand new History Channel series Vikings starring Gabriel Byrne.

On stage, McCarthy made his Shakespearean debut as Fenton in The Merry Wives of Windsor at The Globe in London. Most recently on stage he has played opposite Robert Bathurst as Dr Bruce Flaherty in Joe Penhall's multi-award winning play Blue/Orangethe UK premiere of It's A Wonderful Life and Tony in Beautiful Thing.
